Snowed In: Day 3

That's right, day three. My office opened at 10 a.m. today, and I was ready to walk out the door, when I received an email that the first person there sent out to the whole company advising us not to come in due to the road conditions right by my office. So I set up shop at the kitchen table and worked from home.

John made it in to his office on MARTA so it's been just me and Sam today.
I did as much work as humanly possible given the circumstances, and ate some leftover pizza. Then I came up with my personal Top 10 List, just for you:

Top 10 benefits to being snowed in for 72 hours:
1. I haven't been this caught up on my laundry in...as long as I can remember.
2. I've saved money: I haven't eaten out since Saturday. Also the mall is closed.
3. I've caught up on reading: I finished The Hunger Games and bought Room last night on my Kindle...I'm already 75% through with it - it's seriously riveting. I haven't been this engrossed in a book since The Help.
4. I get to wear my Hunter rain boots for the past 3 days in a row, which were a total impulse buy about a year ago.
5. I've been "cleaning out" my freezer...by eating this:
6. Excessive amounts of antioxidants have been consumed.
7. As well as booze.
8. I have time to give myself a manicure.

9. I am fully packed for my trip to Austin, TX but I don't leave for 2 more days.
10. John's cooked dinner the past 2 nights in a row. Last night's was meatless spaghetti.
Whole wheat pasta, spaghetti sauce, Morningstar Farms Meal Starters crumbles, onion, red pepper, mushrooms, carrots, with red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese added to the sauce.

So that's all I got! I'm going to go make myself do some yoga, then wait for John to get home at the front door like Sam usually does. I'm hoping one of the restaurants up the street is open and we can walk there for dinner...in my hunter rain boots...with my manicure.

  1. Hey, Tracy! It's great to "meet" you, too! It looks like we've had a remarkably similar week. ;) I still don't think I'm going to be able to leave my house until noon or so tomorrow when it warms up!

  2. I love your boots! I have been wanting a pair, but couldn't justify it until this week. Everyday I have told Alex that I should have bought them:) Do you have any of the Jillian Michael's workout DVD's? I have the 30 day shred which I have barely used. I busted it out yesterday and can barely walk today. Guess it works! Enjoy another snow day!

  3. Thanks Samantha! You know, this is so embarassing - I have Jillian's shred but have not even opened it yet! I totally forgot that I had it. Maybe I'll use that tonight...I'm going crazy!
